Finding My Style

There are two photographers that work out of London England that have heavily inspired my work. Ivan Weiss and Phil Sharp both create moody portraits that capture emotion and depth of character. Their techniques involve spending time with their clients to build a connection and hold space for the subject to reveal more of their personality to the camera. Furthermore, they both know exactly when to hit the shutter release to take full advantage of that connection they’ve built.

Building a relationship with the subject is certainly something I will always be improving upon. My subject and I are always collaborating on every shoot, even if the input might seem imbalanced between the two of us.

Working within the limitations of my skills, my images have become recognizable. I am pleased with the overall style of my current body of work.
